about the photographer
a bit about the person behind the lens
I remember my dad used to take what I thought were really bizarre photos, mainly in black and white and at strange angles. One particular image that sticks in my mind to this day was some grafitti sprayed on a brick wall which simply said 'THINK'. I bet every person that walked past it never batted an eyelid. Except my dad that is, who stopped to photograph it in black and white. The wall has now been demolished.
We used to walk along the dock road in Liverpool and photograph the derelict warehouses and the old supports that stuck out of the River Mersey. The only thing that exists today is the photographs. Next time you pass an old building, stop. Imagine the history behind it. The people. The purpose for which it was built. And maybe take a photo to remember it by.
Today, I continue to photograph old buildings and anything else that takes my fancy. However, I've come to love photographing people and their lifestyles.
